NIP 1002 Marking Criteria for Assessments Level 4 (1) Report on a Nursing Skill Criteria Weighting % Comments Breadth , depth and focus of content in relation to the question set for essay/exam and learning outcomes for the module /5 Select a nursing skill: Urinalysis; Temperature; Pulse; Respiration; Blood Pressure Provide a report on the skill including;  Essential principles underpinning the skill  Relevant anatomy & physiology  Evidence base for your discussion  Reflection on your development of this skill Knowledge and understanding (Theoretical work) Knowledge, understanding and demonstration of skill /10 Outline the skill including a rationale. You need to discuss your result in relation to homeostasis and comment on the other observations from the scenario. When using terminology you will be expected to explain about how it applies to the observation/ skill. If stating that the results are normal/ abnormal you will be expected to discuss what is normal and be able to link it to your evidence. Application of theory to practice with evidence of safe clinical practice. /10 Discuss how you ensured patient comfort and safety during to taking of the observation to obtain an accurate result. Comment on how you communicated your result. Presentation and organisation of work. Referencing system complies with the School Referencing and Citation style /5 Introduction- A brief, concise narrative including the purpose. Procedure- Outline the steps you did in undertaking the skill. Results- These are the results of your observations and can be placed in an appendix. Discussion- Discuss the result obtained in relation to the other observations on the chart using variety evidence using the School Referencing and Citation style. Conclusion- What did you learn from the completing the observations?
