Business Views/Reports & Dashboard for SQL Server 2008

We are a small business currently working with a GUI-based inventory management system that uses SQL Server 2008R2 as a back end. Our GUI based system's reporting functionality is very limited, so we are looking for someone with experience in Business Intelligence, SQL View/Report Design and SQL Server Reporting Services to create some new views and report designs based to our needs. Additionally, this project may involve the creation of new calculated tables and triggers within the database in order to track information that is currently not being generated or stored. Primarily, we are concerned with gathering out of stock data for our inventory: -when did a product go out of stock -how long has it been out of stock -how many days in a given time period was the product out of stock, even if it currently is in stock As far as we can tell, the database only stores transactional information, and then generates amounts shipped/sold/in stock from this information. To our knowledge, It currently does not generate Out of Stock information from these transactions. The person we are looking for would have to be able to generate the desired out of stock information from these transactions, if necessary. Previously, we had a third party work on implementing a solution to this, but it is unfinished. You may be able to reuse some elements of their design. We are also looking for someone who can design or simply implement a dashboard feature to make viewing, scheduling, grouping and gathering these reports an easy task for end users. The dashboard function must be both easy to use as well as budget friendly, and we are open to suggestions of affordable third-party software. However, this is not as crucial as creating the views and reports. As a final note, our company is very small. We have no on-staff dedicated DBA, and no employees highly experienced in SQL. As a result, the freelancer will be on their own in determining which columns, tables, relationships, information and calculations meet our desired intentions. We have no detailed map or schema of our database design. However, the freelancer will be able to use our GUI tool in order to better understand the database layout.
