Composit Smart Client app porting

We have a windows file based application developed 20 years ago.? The vendor has stopped support.? We want to build our own application with the same functionality to leverage on Composite Smart Client technology to improve scalability, usability and functionality.? We are looking to CSC because it allows us to have the rich client experience our users demand.? This is an analytic application and standard relational designed components that have flooded the market generally are not something that can be leveraged and we anticipate that new form components will need to be written.? For this assignment we are seeking only a technical evaluation from an experienced and creative .net developer that has successfully utilized the Composite UI Smart Client technology and can leverage Visual Studio 2008.? We will be able to provide a functional specification of future state as well as the existing application for you to load for reference. The key deliverables are assessments of: 1. CSC technology to build the same application intelligence into windows forms, 2. What database efforts may be required (relational or new proprietary purpose build db or combination, we are not considering SSAS except for UDM in handling metadata), 3. Additional components that must be built from scratch, 4. Cost and time estimates to build if we go to production, 5.?
