1. Write a bourne shell script that expects two arguments. The first should be a filename prefix, and the second should be a filename suffix. The script should look for all files that begin with the prefix and rename them to include the suffix.
For example:
$ls
bob jim john john2
and the following command:
$[login to view URL] john jones
the file in the directory should be renamed as follows:
$ls
bob jim johnjones john2jones
2. Write a bourne shell script that takes in any number of login names (SIDS) as arguments, and reports the
home directory and the user's login shell.
3. Write a bourne shell script that uses a menu program that looks like the below:
********************My Menu*********************
D) To view the filesystems.
L) To list any directory.
N) To list the network status.
P) To list the process status of a given process.
Q) Quit
*************************************************
Also, write the commands to perform each function. The user can use either upper or lower case. The L and P commands should prompt the user for what directory to list or which process to get the status on.
For example:
When I run your script, the above menu shows up on the screen by itself. I can press either a lower case d or upper case D and a df command will perform and output to the screen.
## Deliverables
I need the scripts clearly commented, easily understandable for a beginner.
Additionally, the scripts should be coded as simple as possible, nothing fancy!
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
