I'm hoping to create a simple distro for a multi-emulation PC, basically I'd like to have a very simple layout where you can just click on the icon for which system you want to emulate (Atari 2600, Atari 5200, NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, PS1, and PS2), and when you click on it, it plays the corresponding intro and loads the emulator for it dolphin, pcsx2, etc. After selecting you can choose a game or return to the previous screen. The only other thing it would really need beyond that is a way to browse and modify the files (for loading games from USB into the emulators directory), and maybe date and time functionality.

I am a huge fan of Nintendo Entertainment System, and I want to make a subtle animation in different styles, that captures the soul of some games on the system. (About 10 games) You would probably need to spend 10-20 minutes to play each game on an emulator to formulate a good understanding of the game. In some cases I might point out popular scenes and show you videos. Look at the box art, and other derivative art for inspiration. I don't have a specific style. We will decide the style for each game together. Animations shouldn't be long. 1-2 seconds at most, or maybe just a simple element movement that's subtle. What do you think? Are you up for this?
