Movie Recap

I need 3 page double spaced recap of the movie Ex Machina :-) I've written one about the movie "Her" and it should look and feel something similar to it: Spike Jonze questions the theme of love in his movie, Her, when a human and his operating system falls in love with each other. Theodore is a lonely man who recently divorced and writes mostly love letters for a living. In a company that specializes composing letters for people, Theodore is one of the best writers when it comes to composing love letters being that they feel real; the ones who receive the letters can feel love. In fact, he movie begins with him, in his office, writing a love letter. Right off the bat, we question the different aspects of love. Just from this scene, we can understand that love is an intricate and complex thing that is based off of trust, admiration, and respect. When you fall in love with someone, you can be yourself around them rather than putting up a mask that you think they would like. Your feelings are correlated with the one you love because you care for them; when they are happy, so are you. Love isn’t something that can be forced; it comes naturally. But is love really love if you pay a company to write a love letter for your loved one? This makes us wonder if love is just deception or a fantasy. Love letters come from the heart to express one’s true love and thoughtfulness, thus making it unique and personal. This small representation of love is lost in Her. Love might not be as we expect it to be in the movie, where people don’t take the time to write and put effort into the letters they are paying to have written. As Theodore was feeling depressed, he gets an operating system, with a name of Samantha; they unexpectedly become good friends and soon can’t stop talking to each other. Falling in love with Samantha might have been inevitable as Theodore began to move on with his life, ultimately signing the divorce papers he had been putting off. Theodore is a happier person with Samantha than before he had met her. Despite the chemistry between Theodore and Samantha, Theodore’s ex-wife, Catherine, learns that he is currently in a relationship with his operating system when at a meeting to sign their divorce papers; an intimate relationship between an operating system and a human was strange and uncommon. Catherine claims that Theodore is incapable of having a human relationship with humans. Samantha soon learns about this and understands why Theodore had been acting odd around her. This put her in a situation where she thought finding human woman to portray her personality would strengthen their relationship as a “normal” couple. ......
