I come from an ERP development background (full time job) and have an extensive experience with MSSQL development/DBA as well as .Net development. Having been responsible for our company ERP development and doing freelance work next to it on the side - with 200+ projects of various complexity completed, my experience will hopefully be useful to you. Hello! To better understand your problem, I'd need to ask a few questions. What version of SQL Server is this for? What kind of "application" are we talking about? A desktop connection, or a web app or...? The way the project is phrased, I'm led to believe that we're talking about more than simple user management, but needing a methodology for creating new SQL users on the fly, assigning them permissions as is appropriate, and assigning rules-and-role-based permissions programmatically. Is that right? If so, then let's at least set up a Skype session before you award the project to me (or anyone else) just to ensure that I've got a decent handle on what you're looking for, and I can share some of my ideas of how you might want to handle this problem.
