Rewrite FoxPro Application in RealBasic 2007

Sportstech has developed software for assisting sportscasters during live reporting of various sporting events. The software supports the creation of “flipcards?? for different types of sporting events common in the United States. Flipcards are printouts which contain information a sportscaster needs to have at his fingertips during live coverage of a sporting event. The Flipcards software stores a database of team and player information locally on the user’s hard drive. This database may be updated via the internet for user’s with accounts with Sportstech. In addition, the user may add annotations to the database for his own reference. The software is presently written in FoxPro. Sportstech desires that the software be re-implemented in Real Software’s Real Basic so that it may run on both the Mac and PC platforms. In addition, Sportstech desires to take this opportunity to refactor the design so that it can be easily maintained and expanded as the product expands in the future. The existing FoxPro code supports the creation of reports; this is how the different flipcard print layouts are defined. The new code must continue to support this functionality, but may use an add-on package to provide it rather than developing it from scratch. # Project Requirements * Defined by the existing FoxPro implementation of the software. A separate specifications document will also be provided detailing any additional changes or enhancements requested and providing clarifications where necessary. * Implement using Real Software's Realbasic 2007 (R1 or newer). * Need simple utility to convert existing FoxPro databases to new format. * Software must be capable of automatically installing itself on end-user platforms. ## Deliverables 1. Design document reflecting an Object Oriented design for the refactored code. Should include UML 2.0 (or newer) diagrams as follows:xxx 2. Complete and fully-functional version of Flipcards software in binary installable form as well as complete Realbasic 2007 source code of all work performed. 3. Complete and fully-functional version of utility program to convert user data from old FoxPro format to new format used by Realbasic implementation. 4. Binary deliverables must be provided with a software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the specified platforms. 5. All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
