Hello,
I recently took a job that has several php programers using linus boxes and a cvs system along with a home rolled template based oop system. The glaring problem here is that they don't use any kind of test environment. Everything goes straight up to the server and committed. I myself have been provided a Windows XP Pro machine to work with because I know nothing about linux. . What I would like to do is replicate the CVS server on my local box and be able to learn their system without messing up theirs and being able to test without going live. Problem is, I don't know how to set up a CVS server on my Windows maching, download their code and replicate it to set up a test system on my machine. I currently use Tortiose to check out code from their server. Is there anyone out there than can help me with this? I of course could provide remote connection info for someone to remote in to my box and set this up and also I would require well written instructions on how to make this work for me. This would be a life saver. Any tuorials, advice or explanations to make my life easier would be immensly helpful asl well. One good thing is that I'm running Apache, MYSQL, and PHP 5 on my windows box via Friends of Apache install package.
Thanks,
