We need to create a community about cars (automotive). The CMS will be joomla. We are testing both extensions "Community Builder" and "JomSocial" so opinions and suggestions about the two components are appreciated. The work is long term because the community will be quite complex. We therefore need a continuous consultancy for abouth 6/8 months and then will see the evolution of the project. Website specific features: Subscription to community will have a number of custom fields, but not all at once would be asked, thanks to an extension like "Profile Completeness for CB " will be shown how much still missing to complete the account. We need that users can create personal content, articles may be fine but we want to customize joomla inserting fields (article form). We need different article structures to let user insert specific information, for example one kind of content will be info about their cars in order to publish an ad to sell or buy cars (technical data sheets) example site: [login to view URL] We also need to be able to do a deep research on this articles. We considered these extensions for our needs, please let us know if is a good choice personalize form/article: seblod do research: acesearch There is also a graphic layout already developed for the whole site, this will be psd / illustrator and must be turned into templates for joomla community builder /JomSocial. About layout design all the main pages will be developed by us, but we will appreciate that if we ask to install a new module/extension you will collaborate to make it as compatible as possible with the existing graphic style (we will release a graphic guide line). From our research it seems that JomSocial already has many interactive features, however, seems a bit more drive from the point of view of customization, community builder rather it is a bit poor at start but flexible and easily integrated into all modules' / joomla pages. People must interact through chat, messaging, like button, vote ecc… we will like a facebook-similar interface, for that we like jomsocial, but we need that all this interaction will really well integrated on our layout structure. Joomla 2.5.1 is already installed, and are installed both community builder and jomsocial, we did some test with community builder user management, we don't know if it could be a problem install both the "social" extension, but it still a test so we can erase all and reinstall from 0 just one of them. the website will be on just one language (italian). The help that we need is about: - build and install the personalized template starting from a default joomla template (maybe Beez5 or Beez20) we want to have all the list, form, error pages ecc… layout as simple as possible and already developed, only personalize page are: home page, internal pages and user account. - install and configure extensions (jomsocial or community builder) + search and others that we can decide togheter in relation to needs and project developing. - eventually personalize some scripts to fit the extension - help if there will be extension bugs - advices and monitoring about security and best server performances on growing community We will prefer to use extensions for all our needs, but we also know that sometimes it needs extra programming to suit exact personalized features, so we will hire a great joomla expert but also a php/extension developer, better if is a company that can ensure always someone to our calls, this is very important we don't want someone that starts the work and then disappears.
