We are looking for someone to design a site for teaching English as a foreign language online for profit. An e-learning system.
Here are two examples of previous site designs: [login to view URL] and [login to view URL]
The first is too busy and disorganized. It is also difficult to navigate. The second example is getting closer to what we want.
The site is composed of a number of different elements. There are various games and exercises that have been created on a Flash platform. There are services that are offered through the site (i.e. translation, English lessons over the telephone, etc.). There is an application called “The Brain?? which is a tracking system for progress on learning vocabulary. The Brain will be linked to many of the exercises. There are also resources. These can be static such as a glossary of various terms or they can be interactive such as an “email wiki?? used to reference and create emails.
There will need to be a log-in system and a way to link users’ progress with their log-in name.
What we are looking for is someone to help us work out the technical details (and the glitches that will inevitably arise) to link all of the different elements together and display them coherently in a user-friendly manner.
This will involve a certain amount of design work, a good deal of technical skills and a way to organize everything together.
We are also including a document showing a proposed design for the data flow, use-case and structure of the components of the site. Plus a selection of proposed lesson plans.
