I wouldn't need any 3rd party components for this. I would need to know what version of C#/.Net framework? Also - for the robocopy options, you want the user to be able to hand type them or have visual controls corresponding to the robocopy options? By 'synchronize' do you mean a simple approach of 'last updated file always wins'? I would be available to you in Skype during the project.

Practically done, can reuse code. I need to know which switches you will need for Robocopy; there are a lot of them and maybe you won't use all (this is the part I have to modify). Also, don't want to use DB to store Robocopy sets; my intention is to store it on registry, if you prefere I can put them on XML, INI or plain TXT file if you prefer.

HI Buddy, I am a win32 programmer with 8 yrs of exp in FileSystem, I/O , Driver development. For your understanding i have mentioned a few technical crunches in this implementation which need to be considered, - Copying data across windows platforms need to be considered since for Win7 and above File System object security is high and the Robo copy or whatever method we use might fail unless we have not ensured the appropriate security n permissions [Manually / Automated] - Asynchronous file writing would likely fail in a distributed environment - Performance hit in Data copy between FAT32 / NTFS file systems need to be baselined - Failover mechanisms needs to be consider in the design, i.e in case of copying a huge data what if it fails, is there a way to retry and copy instead of aborting...since in the destination already a chunk of data would have been placed... Pls dont think i am criticing the requirements , a good designer will always focus on the technical risks first.. Let me know if u r interested in my proposal :) Happy coding..bye Cheers JK

I can produce this application in C# and have it in the running in the notification area. You can have a menu with simple options. Have you put any thoughts into what you would like in the menu area or would you like it to simply load a form where you can select options,load presets and run robocopies?
