Hi I went through your issue below are the suggestion as per query 1: we can configure session expire on server level which will not kill the php process and also configure user logged in session. 2: Second issue can be resolved by cpanel update. 3: to optimize website performance we can configure mod-deflate which will compress the content before server any request, we can also implement memcache integrated with ioncube loader & zend guard. 4: the reference you have given shows a example where all mails are routed to external gateway for delivery. This example is of postfix whereas cpanel has exim integrated with it. 5: Cpanel comes with a catch all feature which needs to be configured.
