Apple Widget for SEPTA and AMTRAK

I would like an Apple Widget that finds the best train combination for the SETPA Regional Rail trains ([login to view URL]) to Amtrak ([login to view URL]) for the Washington to Boston line Functionality 1: Choose in departure time in Philadelphia, Choose SEPTA Line (R1 - R8) and station, Choose Amtrak arrival (Washington to Boston only). Return the best SEPTA train and best Amtrak train, with arrival time. Functionality 2: Choose desired Arrival time at an Amtrak station and SEPTA departure station, return the best Amtrak and SEPTA trains. ## Deliverables The purpose of this application is for a user living in Philadelphia, PA in the US to be able to schedule trips to the central train station (30th Street Station) in Philadelphia via the SEPTA - the local train system in Philadelphia, and then on to other cities on AMTRAK Trains. AMTRAK is the US's national rail system. For this widget, we are only interested in Cities along AMTRAK's "Northeastern Corridor" which runs from Washington DC to New York City, NY - and all stations in between. Essentially, this widge should help the user answer the question "If I need to get to New York by 9am, what regional train do I need to take to 30th street station, and what Amtrak train do I need to take." With functionality supporting variations on this: "I'd like to leave my house at 9am" "I can leave New York City at 5PM, what time will I get home (via 30th street station, and via the SETPA regional train. Note - you should use the AMTRAK data directly from their web site. I believe an API exists. However, for the SEPTA schedules, I can provide a data set with all of the times, or you can bid on the cost to create one. The widget should allow the user to specify the Departure time or Arrival time The widget should have a drop down menu of - SEPTA route (R1, R2... R8) - SETPA Stop (limited to that route - Amtrak Station Note - all trains are assumed to depart and arrive from Philadelphia's 30th St. Station (PHL is the Amtrak Station Code). This is the Amtrak Station in Philadelphia. There are two modes FROM Philadelphia and TO Philadelphia Example user entries would look like this (I made up the data): Mode 1: FROM Philadelphia Option 1 Departure Time FROM Philadelphia: Depart: [SEPTA_Route] R8 [SEPTA_Station] Upsal [Amtrak_Staion] New York - Penn (NYP) [Departure_Time] 8:45am, Tuesday June 30 This would return: - R8 Departing Upsal at 8:50am - Amtrak Regional Service Train 123 Departing 30th Street at 9:15am, arriving at New York Penn Station at 10: 30am Option 2: [Arrival_time] 9:00am [Arrival_station] Washington DC Union Station [SETPA_Route] R8 [SEPTA_Station] Carpenter Station This would return - R8 Departing Carpenter Station at 6:45am - Amtrak Accela Train 456 departing Philadelphia 30th Street at 7:30am - Arrives Washington DC Union Station at 9:34am MODE 2: TO Philadelphia This is departing from an Amtrak station, back through Philadelphia 30th Street Station Option 1: Departure Time: [Departure_Time] 5pm [Departure_Station] New York Penn Station [SEPTA_Route] r7 [SEPTA_Station] Sedgwick Would return: Amtrak Keystone Train 503, Departs New York Penn Station 5:03PM, Arrives Philadelphia 30th Street Station at 6:25pm R7 Departs 30th Street Station at 7:10pm, arrives Sedgwick Station 7:32pm Option 2: Arrival Time [Arrival_Time] 7:45PM [Departure_Station] New York Penn Station [SEPTA_Route] r7 [SEPTA_Station] Sedgwick Would return: Amtrak Keystone Train 503, Departs New York Penn Station 5:03PM, Arrives Philadelphia 30th Street Station at 6:25pm R7 Departs 30th Street Station at 7:10pm, arrives Sedgwick Station 7:32pm Note there are 2 classes of trains - "Regional" and "Accela" the user should be able to restrict the search to Regional + Accela, or limit to 1. (Note there is also a "Keystone" Train which should be included in the search.
