Fix Search Feature on Joomla Site

We recently upgraded to Joomla 3.0 and are using the Smart Search module to search our site. There are a few problems with the search feature that we would like fixed. 1. We want the search results to show up on their own page. Right now the results show up on whatever page they are searched from. We want the results to show up on a new page with the same layout as the interior pages, but with the attached banner image. 2. Search does not work on the the home page. This is because the content area is hidden on the home page. Fixing #1 should also fix this, since the results will be going to their own page.
