We require a system which basiclly dynamically generates math questions, to some given patterns. It will select randomally parameters for a question and takes user's answer. The questions would be user oriented, that is - each user will recieve question acording to his own curiculum, determined by several factors. The system would store information about user success rate ib database. The main screen would be the questions' screen, and it will be wrapped by various screens: -Login screen for differernt types of users (we will elaborate later) -User's personal screen - in which statistical data about his success rate will be seen, grouped by subjects. -Solution screen - in which user gets full solution for the question been asked. -And more - that will be explained in details if we decide to proceed forward. -Attached to this message: 1. Have a look at my information and know that I was a teacher of computing and my wife was headmistress of primary school - so I have been building solutions for this sector for a long time! The timescale is nonsense - as it cannot be properly calculated, as all of the parts are only casually expressed. The swiss project (see at bottom) is over 1.5 years and we are into a whole new area of cloze procedure - remember its multi-lingual advanced english tuition. This is where I started programming back in 1983... self generating maths questions for young learners...that laid out the answer as if the pupil was writting it in their jotters... i advanced it into a fast paced game where threat and panic brought out the best in the learner and they thrived - turning maths into a game with high scores. The structures you want are simple enough, but you will be amazed at how short-sighted your programming thoughs are, once you finish. The complexity of the database and the interactions you wish to assert will be interesting. I would love to be involved in your project - as I mentioned at the start, I am currently working with a tefl school in switzerland developing a formatting converter for the ANKI flash card system it takes his marked-up sentence structures and produces a complex rendering that brings a richer experience to the user. The product has worked well and the ANKI tool is now growing as one of the schools curriculum tools. The costs will be a bit more than your budget when you have finished - but for now the initial system and the maths questions could be achieved.
