This project is to implement a new implementation of the Java 1.4 Pipe class which supports the same interface but does not use sockets as an internal interface, it should use a queue as an internal implementation. The reason this is required is that Windows systems often complain about or block or close sockets and our application uses a Pipe with an NIO (non-blocking I/O) framework and is experiencing problems due to the current Sun implementation which uses sockets. See [login to view URL] for details on the Java 1.4 pipe class. This project will implement the following classes QueuePipe class (same i/fs as Pipe) QueuePipe,SinkChannel (same i/fs as [login to view URL]) [login to view URL] (same i/fs as [login to view URL]) The class must support multiple threads writing atomic messages to the same SinkChannel, but support for only one "reader" is required. This class will be used in a "select" statement, so particular care must be paid to implementing the extended [login to view URL] interface.
