Six Flags Fright Fest Microsite

Six Flags needs a foreboding and scary microsite to help promote the upcoming Halloween events at each of the Six Flags theme parks. We site should include at the very least an appropriate introduction (presumably developed in Flash) and appropriate in-site content and transition pages built upon a WordPress foundation. This is an exceptionally high profile project that requires an online artist who has a demonstrated ability to create polished, unique sites that look professional and that will scare the pants off of anyone who visits. Event Overview Fright Fest is an annual event that takes place at each of the Six Flags theme parks from late September through the end of October. Parks that host the event include Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Over Georgia, Six Flags St. Louis, Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Great America, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Six Flags America, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Six Flags New England, and The Great Escape. The event features a daytime “fun” event and also an evening “fright” event (this microsite is specifically intended to market the nighttime “fright” event). The event features a number of haunted/frightening mazes, shows, scare zones as well as access to the regular park attractions. Project Timeline The completed web site should be ready to go online by September 1, 2011 (we will be adding text and pictures after this date, but your piece should absolutely be finished). We will also need to agree on a schedule for delivering comps of the site and other project milestones. Project Requirements The project is to develop a microsite that is scary, foreboding and that captures the essence of the Fright Fest event. It will serve as a home for all Fright Fest related information and will include a number of pages that must be easily updatable by the marketing team at each park. From an infrastructure standpoint, we’d like the microsite developed on a WordPress platform which we will host on our server. It should be structured as a WordPress 3.0+ “Network of Sites” where each park has its own site. This will give each park individual control over their content and allow for easy customization of each site. Project Deliverables - Flash-based introduction using a combination of the various photos and assets we provide. - Basic WordPress site template. - Custom WordPress page template for attractions. - Custom WordPress page templates for lists of attractions and rides. - Custom templates for Information pages. - Photo Gallery - Email Updates Page - Integrated Facebook Page (for Facebook iFrame) - Web site welcome animation Elements created for this project including all source files will become the property of Six Flags. Upon completion of the project you will need to provide to us copies of all source files including all Flash, Illustrator, and Photoshop files. You may not use any of the creative assets you create for this project on other projects, and Six Flags will have the right to alter and use (and reuse) what you create for this project in perpetuity. You will also need to guarantee that you have the right (and that we have the right) to use any of the creative and intellectual properties you include in your project. Other Interactive Elements You Can Add to Your Proposal The specifications above describe the basic elements that are required for this project. To differentiate your proposal from others, you are welcome to include other interactive and interesting elements that will enhance the microsite. Creative Guidance The web site should be aimed at teens and young adults and should convey the scariness of the event. Note that when we say “scary” we mean that it should be frightening and chilling. Just like a great horror film, it should leave something to the imagination.
