ColdFusion MX Sorting and Converting and Reporting

I am developing a tracking website using Dreamweaver MX and Cold Fusion MX. I am somewhat new to this and require some help. My site allows users to input information that updates in an Access database. Users can then view individual record details. I need something that will allow a report to be genrated based on information that is found in the database. There are three departments in the organization Sales,Tech, and Processing. The report will essentially need to validate that certain information has been entered in certain fields. After validation it will need to assign a point value to each of the validated records for each individual who has entered it. Example: Bob enters a record into the sales department he receives 1 point for that record in the report (based on the points system), Tom has two files meeting the required criteria in the processing department, he receives 3 points for each file, totaling 6 points in the report. The report will generate the name of the person who has met the criteria as well as their point total. Point totals will be from a specified date range, probably resetting each month.
