I am using SQL Server Express 2005 and just need some help with walking me through how to correctly back up a database and move it to another server. There are two things that I especially want to make sure happens: 1) I am using the built in encryption keys for AES 256-Bit encryption and I need to have those export correctly too. I heard that needs to be done separately? 2) When I export I need the schema names to just be regular [login to view URL] for things like stored procedures and table names. I had a problem in the past that when i backup a database and import it into another server, it renames all the schemes to something like this: [login to view URL] ... This of course, breaks the store procedures because it is expecting the default dbo. schema. That's it... I just need instructions to help me do this correctly. I am trying to have a LIVE server and TEST server, so i want to be able to replicate the schemas and data correctly. ------- Also, if you have a nice way to replicate JUST the schemas between each of the databases that would be great too. So, if I change a stored procedure or add one on the test server, it can be updated on the live one (but not the data, just the schemas.. since I don't want test data integrating with the live version).
