300472 Server help!!

Hi, I have been having some huge server problems, and I am looking for someone who can help me with my issues. Recently my server had a DoS attack (this is what my server support people told me). I have been asking for their help since yesterday, but they are taking too long to even reply. I need to bring my server back online as soon as possible. I am not a big technical guy...and I need help. I have a Dedicated Server. This is what I was told so far: --------------- A DoS attack is when someone floods the server with a great number of TCP requests. You can ban IPs which are used by hackers for the atack. So, you need to setup firewall rules and deny access from these IPs. You can get a full list of IPs with the following commands: service httpd start netstat -n service httpd stop You may use iptables utility. for more information read \"man iptables\". --------------- Now, I don't know where to go from here.
