Email Notifications not being sent

We have a huge problem at the moment, none of the email notifications (orders, contact us, etc) are being sent to either the shopper or the administrator for notification. Magento ver. 1.7.0.2 There is also some other small changes we need to do like adding 4-5 more pages for faq and etc.
