Creating a checksum

I'm familiar with the Java language for it is the main language that i use day to day. But you didn't say much about the infrastructure that you're already using so i'm still unsure how fast i can deliver to you. I'll need to understand the current system that you're using in order to start making the checksum and integrating it in the current process.
