To be a little more specific, I'm looking for a browser extension which will identify space that is a variable distance from any text or hyperlinked image for any given web page. The extension should create a map for that space and display a color of choice chosen by the user in those mapped areas of space. By variable distance, I mean that the user can choose a distance of 10 pixels minimum, for example, or a distance of 2% of the width of the browser window. I want this for Chrome and Firefox with source code.

Hey. So, what you want is on click of extension, and the popup will open. The popup will have a "space" input, as well as "color" input. It will have a "Run" button too. When run, the program will try to find all "texts" or hyperlinks that are images (ending with png, gif...) on the page, and will go to the parent element of that page and check if it has less then "space" input value (10px). If it has, it should set the background color of that parent element to user-defined "color". When all is done, the program will exit. Is this what you want? Can you clear out my mistakes?
