I had used dragonball serires 68331 and 68hc05 series mcu for in a pda design and implemenatation. I cannot see the two questions you mentioned in your description. if you are considering using one of the mcu for your project, you better download the pds files from on semi and make compariison directly. I haven't read the book , but I used to read throught thte mcu menu and design guide and errata involved, when I start up a project. these document is from mcu manufacturer. they must contain all you need to know.. There is one exception. When i was in charge of a project using 68hc05, my colleague report that the mcu cannot be waken up if interrupt souce come in just before the wake up mechanism is armed. At last, we add a ciruit to mute the interrupt source during wake up mechanism is being armed. Result proved that this circiut do make the function. This is my first time to claim a job online Hope you can consider my experience in mcu programming and give me a chance.
