I have plenty of experience slicing and dicing point clouds but my bid is contingent upon several questions: Do you have sense of the scale of your point cloud? 100 points? 1000 points? 10,000 points? How many points will you need for each cross section? Do you need cross-sections in 1 direction or all 3 directions? What are the dimensions for the part, and what spacing for each section Most importantly, what are you using all these sections for? If you are trying to reverse engineer a model I have other methods that might be more useful and higher quality.
