Edit 90 minutes of recorded audio into a podcast, possibly using Descript

I have a recorded audio conversation that is 90 minutes long and involves 8 speakers or so.  The topic of the conversation is the neuroscience of consciousness and general anesthesia (an area of medicine), so the discussion uses a number of technical terms from neuroscience and medicine. The project is to turn this into an edited podcast with a clean transcript. Experience with academic science writing is preferred due to the technical nature of the content. Experience with the Descript editing software is a plus. I've been using the transcription program and podcast editing tool called "Descript".  It's auto-transcription feature is similar to [login to view URL], but it also allows editing including removing filler words like "uh" automatically. Descript allows sharing of projects across multiple users. The first 30 minutes of the audio recording are two speakers. myself and the main guest. The last 60 minutes are a Q&A period with 6 questioners or so and responses from the guest and myself. This is the work that needs to happen: part 1: * fix the transcription errors in the automated transcript * separate and label the different speakers * clean up the audio and transcript (remove awkward gaps, some filler words, and garbled audio) part 2 :* select the "good parts" for the final version (I can help identify) * do a clean edit so that it flows smoothly The final version will probably be 80 minutes or so. I've found the Descript tool to be effective for doing both the transcript and the editing, and access to the tool can be shared (it is a Mac or PC application).  However if you know a better way to do this -- or one you are already familiar with -- I am open to that also. There may be other projects in the future like this.
