Create CSV database from various files types

One of my larger projects was a conversion system to and from many flat file formats (some pretty bizarre) for parking ticket data processing. Many other projects have involved conversion, it is quite easy to do but can be time consuming depending on the correctness of the content.

It's not entirely clear exactly what you need.. so i'm putting a VERY rough figure here.. i'll contact you via PMB.

Hello, If what I understand from your project description. You basically want to take pre-existing files on a CD and store them in a Access database so you can upload to your storefront. Do you require an application for possibly automatically uploading the necassary files say on a scheduled basis ? This is a fairly simple task, however MS-Access may be the preferred medium for what you're asking.

This is a quite raw bid, as I'd need to know more details about the amount of files and the spec of the final database. Having done loads of data migrations from/to all kinds of formats this shall be no problem. I've assumed all files to be in good condition and thus to be no need for data cleansing. I have done this using MS-Access for another client of mine. He regularly imports order data from his Yahoo! Store into the Access database, and even calls a UPS database directly to have the shipping labels printed automatically. PM me if you wish to discuss it further. Hello, you're either trying to one of two things which you'll have to clarify: (1) you want to upload the binary format of these files (html, ascii, file, pub, jpeg, gif) once uploaded the files will resemble a series of random-looking characters like "LDKkds**({..83", but this involves using a more powerful database than MS Access (you'd need something like the "BLOB" datatypes in MySQL or Oracle to accomplish the task) if you have no idea what I'm talking about see #2; *or* (2) you want to store the *names* of these files -not the actual files- in a MS Access database, this involves basic data-input of the file names and is much easier. This is a very rough estimate. IF you just want to store the file names in a CSV formated flat file, or series of related files, then I can do the job is 2 days for $100. IF you want to store 700 MB of data in a database you are looking at much more work and the price goes up accordingly.
