However, organization is such a common problem with term papers that a simple and effective scheme is outlined here as a suggestion. It involves partitioning the paper into discrete parts to insure that the topic is properly introduced, that relevant supporting material is treated in a logical fashion, and that the paper ends with everything tied together into a satisfying conclusion. The Term Paper will have the following sections: Cover Page The cover sheet should include the following: title, authors, course, and submission date. Abstract The Abstract must be no longer than 100 words, it must be self-contained, and it must not require reference to the paper to be understood. In some cases, only abstract of a paper is read; on other cases, an abstract prompts further reading of the entire paper. The abstract should represent the primary objectives and scope of the study/paper or reasons for writing the paper; findings and conclusions should be presented precisely and be informative. The abstract should not contain unfamiliar terms that are not defined, undefined acronyms, reference citations, or displayed equations or lists. Introduction The introduction section should introduce the paper to the reader giving an overall introduction of what the paper is all about. Starting and ending a paper are always the hardest parts of writing and can be done last. One good scheme for an introduction is to begin with something colorful about the subject to catch the reader's attention and to end with a thesis statement. A thesis statement explicitly tells what the paper will be about so that the reader isn't left guessing. The introduction should be short: a page is too long for an introduction. Objectives of the Paper In this section you have to outline why you chose your topic and what are the objectives and scope of your paper. This section also will include the problem statement, i.e., what problem is there, or why that topic is important and needs to be studied/researched up on, etc. Literature Review This section is the main body of the paper. You should search all available literature
