A 'theyrule'-like web project

We'll be building a professional networking website with visual features such as theyrule.net. Here's the idea behind the project: Assume that you need to get in touch with the CEO of a reputable company. The best way to do that, would probably be to find out common contacts to get him/her introduce you two. So this website basicly offers to connect you to 'anyone' who is somehow connected to your professional network. So, if you're trying to sell a product to CEO of Boeing, you can find out that you're 72 people away from him through your buddy. And then you can start tracking all the way up to his room. :) **That path is all this website is responsible of presenting to the user.** (Your buddy's ex girlfriend is a member of a community whose leader is cousin of wife of the board member of a company which is a client of Boeing, etc.) ![][1] Please keep reading... ## Deliverables When you signup as a new user, you're free to build your own network, simply by entering e-mail addresses of your contacts, allowing us to send them invitations. Users will signup by entering the following information: Name, last name Gender Year of birth Graduated college Industry Fields of interest E-mail Password Once you confirm your e-mail and complete registration, you're either a node (with no connection to other nodes or networks) or a part of a network. You can conduct queries based on name-last name, college, industry, field of interest or e-mail to figure out if someone you know already exists in the database. Let's say you're connected to the network through another contact and trying to reach Mr Gates.. You can enter a name to figure out if you're connected to Mr Gates through your network. Mr Gates may be either X (where X is a number between 2 and 9999999) steps away from you, or he's not reachable through your network yet. The visual aspect of the project is important, so please check out [login to view URL] and browse through companies to see how theyrule handles those companies' directors' affiliation with each other. This is exactly what we need to do... Either Flash or Java based interface with database connection, and a nice presentation just like theyrule does. (Check out the animation when you click on the board table of a company. We won't have tables, though, every person will be handled individually) Besides names, a search based on areas of interest, industries, colleges etc. are also available and they will increase the 'bonds' between the nodes. You need approval of the other party to form a bond between you and him/her. Since this might seem a little confusing, please ask your questions upfront, so that you can have a clearer picture before you begin. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
