I have over 13 years of corporate experience working in Excel creating advanced automated dashboards and reports with coded Macros - very similar to your project description. We would have an area where you would input all current customer costs and then an area with your company costs with displays for all variances. Hello. In my experience, most people who claim they are good at Excel will list "pivot tables, and v-lookups" on their resume. I immediately know that they are lying. Since Excel 2007 came out, pivot tables are extremely easy to build, but unfortunately, hard to describe to the end-user how to use. I don't like them when it comes to project where I don't know the end-users' skills. V-lookup is very limited in use. I prefer sumif, sumifs, or a combination of index-match as needed. Although I can write macros from scratch to do crazy things with data, Excel is fastest when you let Excel do the job with embedded functions. My day job is a Controller for a company that operates in 18 of our 50 United States. I can put together text comparison, number comparison, rates, and other criteria together pretty easily and accurately. My experience, though, is the first iteration of a solution usually gives the end-user new ideas to incorporate into the project. That is why I bid on the high side. I know that when you see my initial solution, your eyes will be opened you and you will think of a request you had not previously thought of. Any updates will be included in the initial price. Any reasonable request will be considered up to three weeks after you have received the solution.
