Scrape webapge using Python

I am looking for a script in Python which can scrape the following URL: [login to view URL] The script should be able to run on Ubuntu terminal via cron job. I need the script to be run every few hours, so it updates entries in MySQL if already present or insert new entries. The script should be optimized so it works very fast. The values of the table must be stored in a MySQL table with the following structure: security_code security_name industry period_text period_url a_u xbrl_text xbrl_url con_xbrl_text con_xbrl_url Please note - for the column xbrl, it has javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$ContentPlaceHolder1$gvData$ctl02$lnkXML',''). If manually you click on it, it takes you to a URL, I am looking for an automated solution in Python to do this. Broadcasting period should be configurable via script. So I should be able to select Today, Last Week, Last 3 months, Last 1 year, etc. I want all the prior data available which needs to be scraped. And run script daily which will fetch today's records. ONLY bid if you have worked on something similar.
