My name is Marisa Michaels, and I am a business communication professor at the University of Arizona's Eller College of Management. I would like to recreate a tool that was once a google docs add-on but is no longer available. It's a tool that will highlight simple verbs like "be", "are" "is" (I can provide a list of these) and prepositions like "at" "to" "with" (I can also provide a list of these) in a given document. Then, it would tell the user the % of each of these word types in their document. Simple verbs and prepositions are often present in wordy writing.
I tried contacting the creator of the google add-on, but he never emailed me back. Apparently, he has not agreed to google's new terms of the provider agreement, so my students can't download the tool.
I would like to know if you can do something similar as a word or google docs add on/plug. My goal is to share this plugin with my students. For more details, here is an excerpt of a video showing me using the google tool: https://vimeo.com/313613059#t=420s
Please let me know if this seems like a project you'd be willing to take on. I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you!
