This project includes two tasks: (1) Custom functionality based on WPML We are using a multilingual website based on the plugin WPML. We wish to implement a custom functionality in our theme. Here's the scenario: In all language versions (for example German and French), the same blog is displayed with posts in one fixed standard language (English). If a translation of a post exists in the active language (like German), the translated post should be displayed instead of the version in the standard language. So far this is standard behavior supported by WPML. What we would like you to do is to modify the theme's code so that posts in the active language (like German) are also displayed in addition to those from the standard language (English) even if the post is not a translation of a post in the standard language but only exists in the active language. (2) Update our Wordpress installation to 4.7.2 Currently our website runs on Wordpress 4.5.6. An automatic update to a higher version failed and generated the so-called "White Screen of Death". We could not find any error messages that indicate why this is happening. Fortunately, we had backups and were able to downgrade back to the version that works. We would like you to duplicate our installation in a test environment, to find and fix the error, and then update the live installation to the latest Wordpress version. There are 39 active plugins but hopefully it will be easy to solve this.
