Hi! I have written a plugin doing similar thing back in Dec 2018. Here's what it does as described in the plugin Header to spare paraphrasing: "Plugin Name: WooCommerce Add-on - Set Product Images Description: Pools products having no image and/or gallery set, then looks through set directory tree for image files having first part of the file name matching the product SKU and if found add those to Media Library and assigns them to the product. 05.12.2018 Ver1.0a: Added Lower and Upper boundary inputs, for Product ID when generating a Batch of products for processing. " It differs from what you are asking in the way that 'what you are asking assumes these images will alerady been imported(uploaded to wp, supposedly manually or by some other process) prior to the action that would hook them with aproduct will fire, while the one I have from before is 'looking them up' through the uploads directory tree and if it finds one(based on the product SKU) it adds them to media library and then assigns them to the product. It also acts upon products that have already been created(and is initiated manually, through an options page, only in batches through AJAX). It's unclear how you would want it to act - upon the actual creation of the product(variation product), after they have been added and if not having images already or maybe both. So please elaborate further on what functionalities would it have to have ultimately. It's a good basis and could be reworked easily. Regards, Dobri
