Debug Javascript Error in Wordpress with Datatables

I am using the Datatables JQuery plugin ([login to view URL]) with my Wordpress plugins and I am having an issue with a plugin that is trying to open a popup for search results. The error is as follows : [login to view URL]:16 Uncaught TypeError: [login to view URL] is not a function at [login to view URL] ([login to view URL]:16) at [login to view URL] ([login to view URL]:11) at [login to view URL] ([login to view URL]:11) at a.(/anonymous function).(anonymous function) etc. I believe there is some conflict in naming that is causing the error. I am not experienced in Javascript or JQuery so I am unable to debug it. I don't think this will take long to debug. The conflict is between datatables and the buddypress global search.
