DICE Automation Android App

We are looking for an Android Developer who possesses a passion for pushing mobile technologies to the limits and will work with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of our mobile applications. We are an early age start-up which is working in stealth mode at present to put out a State of Art Home Automation System in the shortest practical time period possible. We are creating a product which will revolutionize the way customers stay at their Homes in India. Our focus is making the use of remote controls, switches as insignificant as possible in the lives of people. We have approached a few early-stage investors who were impressed by the prototype and the overall business process that we intend to follow. We are also in talks to be incubated by a couple of the best incubators in the country. We are looking for someone who: a) Feels that an immense learning curve, exposure to product development at all its stages and to don different hats within the same organization is more exciting than pleasing your parents with a run of the mill MNC job (Most important!!) b) Is kicked about writing neat, hassle free, readable and documented code within given stipulated time. c) Feels that an Android application can solve literally any problem on the planet (Even world hunger lol :D!!) d) Has substantial knowledge of Android application UI design and can look into tweaking the already created prototype. e) Has previously created Android applications. If these applications are on the Google Play Store and have some traction, then you'll get a few extra points for that. Responsibilities • Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. • Work with outside data sources and API's • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability. • Work on bug fixing and improving application performance. • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency. Requirements • Proven software development experience • Proven working experience in Android development • Have published at least one original Android app • Experience with Android SDK • Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON • Experience with third-party libraries and APIs • Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies • Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
