Create a PDF preview, get word and page count, and more in PHP

I have an existing PHP script which allows documents (PDF and DOC and DOCX) to be uploaded. After the file is uploaded, I need a script to do the following as a background/cronned PHP script once my upload script provides the file path of the uploaded document: For DOC and DOCX uploaded files - get word count and page count, and save to DB - get the full text of the document, and save to DB - get the first 50, middle 50 and last 50 words from the full text of the document, and save to DB. There must be an option for me to change the number of words (e.g. I might want to change it to the first 20 words, middle 30 words and last 20 words). For DOC, DOCX and PDF uploaded files - create a preview JPG or PNG of the first page of the document - create a PDF of the first 5 pages, middle 5 pages, and last 5 pages of the document. There must be an option for me to change the number of pages (e.g. I might want to change it to the first 8 pages, middle 3 pages, and last 2 pages). - The above PDF needs to add a LINK to my website at the bottom left (on top of whatever is in the existing document). There must be an option for me to change the LINK later on. Additional requirements: - The above needs to run either as a Cron job or on demand once the script is called. - There needs to be a very simple admin page for me to change the options above. In addition, the admin page should let me select whether the script is to be run "on demand" or delayed as cron job (with a selection for time intervals and allowing me to set a maximum number of files to process per run). If its run as a cron job, you would need to prepare a temporary list to store all the files to be processed. - There needs to be error logging so I know if there are errors in doing any of the above as it will all be background processing. - If there is an error, the admin page should allow me to run the script again for that file and do another pass. - Code needs to be commented. - Minimal external plugins etc to be used. Please tell me in your response what programs/plugins you need to install. I won't consider your quote unless you tell me this! - I have Ubuntu VPS but no access will be granted to you. You will need to provide the files and the installation instructions.
