Here are some questions I have regarding work done through RAC that I didn't see in the FAQ. I didn't see another place to ask them. Thanks in advance for any responses. Feel free to answer any one question without addressing them all. If a project needs a 3rd party component, such as a graphics package or pdf generator, can I purchase a license and let the coder use it and then I get the license back? The answer will depend upon the component, I'm sure. What is common practic? In particular I am thinking of Chart FX, but the question can be generalized. I am familiare with VB, and have written code. I am not a pro. I have a large project in mind related to my profession (investments and financial planning). I plan to break it into smaller projects. Would anyone recommend hiring (through RAC) a project manager/consultant to help review specs for clarity, manage the process, check the quality, but not write the code? Does it make sense to have one project be develop the objects and another the interface and another the reports? No disrepect intended here, but are (US) copyrights respected all around the world? Is this reason to restrict the location of the coder. For larger projects, how is code maintained? Does everyone use VSS or something. Was there a better place to ask these questions?
