Hi, everybody. I need your help to modify the web based API of a software called Revou, which is a PHP based twitter like app sold by a 3rd party developer.
My client has purchased said software to create an application that will interface with an SMS gateway to allow cellphone users to send and receive status updates through their cellphones, and so the purpose of this project is to hire a PHP coder able to modify the code in Revou to fit this requirement.
The Revou api allows an external program to send and receive messages from the system, but currently only supports public and friend messages, whereas we need followers, that is:
- Ability for a user to send a message to his followers.
- Ability to retrieve messages posted by users followed by the user.
The idea is that you follow the syntax already used by the API to send and retrive messages, only incorporating the above functionality. Since we need these modifications to interface the web app with an SMS gateway, so that registered users can send status updates to their followers from their cellphones, and receive via SMS the updates from the people they follow, we also need to modify the parameters passed to the API for these functions, because the Revou API requires a username and password to be transmitted by the client to enable the functionality, which it would be a hassle for the end users on their cellphones, so in addition to the above, I'd like to have the new functions require a cellphone and a system wide password as parameters, and in the registration page we need to collect the user's phone number for this purpose.
I've attached the code from the API, full code will be shared with the selected bidder.
I'm looking here for somebody who knows this kind of programming well, and get it done right fairly fast. The API documentation is here: [login to view URL]
Thank you and let me know if you have any questions.
