RSS Multi-User Feed/Subscriber Management System

We have already built a special kind of RSS aggregator/filter/alerting tool and we need a coder to provide a multi-user feed management front end for it. Something similar to the functionality of the front end user/feed management system for [login to view URL] or MyYahoo or Bloglines etc. For Zaptxt go through the process of adding a feed to get an idea. If you can identify an open source/commercial friendly package that already does this, you can customize it as needed. Again - we do NOT need the actual RSS poller, filter, alerting tool - just the subscriber and feed management tool. Please dont bid if you have not worked on RSS projects before. Here are the key requirements: SEE DELIVERABLES SECTION ## Deliverables Here are the key requirements: 1. We would like to have a button/bookmarklet like ( Add to My Yahoo, + Newsgator +Bloglines for example) that would appear along side similar buttons wherever RSS feeds are offered. Must work in FF and IE. The basic idea is any place you see buttons for other RSS news aggregators, you should be able to use our button for adding the feed to our RSS service. 2. The button/bookmarklet will link via a "addfeed" URL to the feed management web site. See how the other buttons work for other news aggregators. 3. When the browser loads this page: 3.1 if a user is not logged in already to the feed management site, they should be prompted for a username/password and the "add" action will automatically continue. The feed in question should be added to the users existing feedlist. The success page should be the list of all the feeds the user already has. 3.2. If the user is not a previously registered user, the user should be offered a signup page. Registration should ask for user email id, IM ids on various networks etc. It should use a CAPTCHA. It should offer lost password and similar features. It is best to use a lightweight existing CMS or other portal package to do this part - no point reinventing the wheel. 4. The feed management site will let the user manage their RSS feeds collection. Add/delete/Modify etc. This will present a list of feeds the user is subscribed to. Next to each feed will be options for how the user wants to be notified of new items in feed (Checkmark next to Email,IM,SMS,Phone). There will be preference settings (how many items to show in the feed, and a list of comma separated keywords to match in a search format, a short label for the feed, and how often the alerts to be sent). All this needs to go into a database. Design the schema. 5. Advanced: The user may belong to a group, and the feed may belong to a category/tag. It is also our desire to expose the add a feed functionality as a REST API. This is currently an optional part of the project. It is ok to not bid on this portion. NOTE: The package should be shipped so that it can be installed cleanly at a new location. This means step by step instructions and scripts for setting up the databases and any modules for the web servers. The portal should have a clean, Web 2.0 look and should use AJAX technologies where possible. First preference is for LAMP technology, and second for Java/JSP. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
