Hi and thanks for looking at my project. I've got a client who wants to build a site similar to [[login to view URL]][1]. One major difference is that we want the students to pay a small fee to list their books. We want to be able to change the amount. The fee will be paid via PayPal initially, but eventually would be paid by a regular merchant account. This site will not manage the trasnfer of funds between buyers and sellers. The only funds collected are for LISTING FEES. After the book is listed, payment is arranged between buyer and seller. The site will have a database for the following: User Registration Books for Sale Topic (Biology, Chemistry, Math, Engineering, etc) Schools (right now we'll start with one school, but want the ability to add any school, will required state and school name in database) Students will register with the following information. First Name Last Name Email Address phone Number Instant Messenger (AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo & related ID) Books will require the following information: Title Author ISBN number Price Requested Price Negotiable? (yes, no) Class subject (very generic, Biology, Chemistry, Math, etc, drawn from database in drop down menu) Students should be allowed to terminate a listing or mark it as sold. Once the book is sold, it should be removed from the database, or at least not included in search results when buyers are searching. Books will remain active up to 90 days. After 90 days, they will deleted from the database. Buyers should be able to search for books by any of the listed fields (Title, Author, ISBN, Topic). We don't need a fancy site, but we want it to look nice and to be easy to navigate. If you have any questions about this project, please post a message. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. The only e-commerce that will be done on the site is for the listing fees that the seller must pay. We do not want to manage and transfer the funds for book sales. This site is a book swap listing service for college students. Once someone finds a book they want, all financial transactions are handled between buyer and seller individually. We ONLY collect for listing fees. Also, we don't want a COPY of the site we are trying to pattern after. We want our own look and feel, so keep that in mind.
