Publisher seeking Core WordPress Developer to lead existing WordPress client project. Publisher will be executing a complete redesign / recode of a well established high volume industry news website. This is a high traffic volume website with a Quantcast top 5000 visited websites in the United States. Primary technologies: HTML 5, CSS, Mysql, Php, LAMP hosting environment, Varnish Cache, RSS Core development tools WordPress, WordPress Plugins including W3TC caching & Yoast. Basecamp project management, Beanstalk Code repository, Staging environments , Apache SOP’s Standard Operating Procedures Local code development, Development code maintenance to cloud, Staging environment testing, Server Load testing, Code level validation, Page speed testing, RSS validation, Production publishing and page level testing, error log research and troubleshooting techniques. On page production testing and system uptime monitoring Publisher has completed a complete rebuild of website in the last 18 months. However the completed project is not satisfactory to the publisher and we will be making a new effort to completely redeploy a new website. This project will start immediately and with be targeted to complete in 4 months time. Publisher is seeking a highly skilled experienced professional Wordpress Developer to build a top quality scalable web environment with the focus on end user function and usability. Attention to detail is a must for this engagement. This build will be a project deployment with long term monthly maintenance. The Publisher seeks a long term professional arrangement with future development as well as regular maintenance. Considerations: Publisher maintains their own hosting servers for production and staging environments. Publisher has existing Server consultants for support of the web environment. Publisher uses paid versions of well established tools and plugins for access to third party support. There is no need for graphics or design development in this project. Web Developer must utilize the publisher time keeping mechanisms from Tick Time keeping with integration into Basecamp for all development work on projects and maintenance. Availability: Publisher requires all work to be completed on time scale schedules with a focus on meeting critical deadlines. Maintenance is to be performed regularly as needed on a monthly basis. Publisher is expecting to contract with a freelance professional not a design team or consultancy team. We seek a single professional to provide services as needed as a freelancer. In some instances where critical patches must be performed on the production environment the Freelance maybe required to work in off hours for minimal impact to the publisher production environment. Publisher does not accept downtime to the production environment. Payments: Publisher will pay web developer an agreed hourly rate. In some cases where a scheduled project is delivered under budget and in advanced of the scheduled delivery date the web developer may receive a bonus amount as agreed by the publisher. All Payments are monthly in arrears and based on Tick time schedule time sheets as completed by the web developer and approved by the publisher. Third parties: Under no circumstance is the freelance web developer to subcontract work or collaborate with any unknown (to publisher) third parties without first receiving expressed written permission from the publisher. Location: Only US citizens located in the continental United States will be considered.
