The script would be made of a single page with a single field, in that field you enter the value of 'q' with whatever you need, to allow it to fetch the data and put it into the Excel file. The Excel file format would be a CSV file, which Excel could open easily without trouble. Unfortunately I'm unable to provide a sample, given that the API key you had provided in your project description doesn't work.
