Our product includes the use of 5 x 4-pin 5mm RGB LEDs wired to a PCB assembly with a USB Microcontroller.
Applicant should be proficient with electronics involving Chinese USB Microcontrollers (previous work is a plus). We have a few manufacturers that we are in contact with but are open to using a different one. If applicant has a suggested China based manufacturer that would be even better. The first stage of this project will be determining the best suited Microcontroller for the lowest price since this product will be mass produced. If the applicant can find a Microcontroller that is reasonably priced from a different country that they feel is better for the product, we will consider it.
We will need the colors and flashing of the LEDs to be determined via a software (PC & OSX versions needed) that the applicant will also provide. With this user-friendly software, the user will be able to choose the pattern and speed of the flashing as well as the colors. The software will need to be simple and elegant, with images that make it very simple for them to change the patterns and colors via sliders and number input. They will connect the product to their computer and upload their custom modes via USB. The product will need to come with a few preset modes as well. The user will be able to scroll through the modes (presets and custom) via a dial.
The power source is something we'd also like input on from the applicant. We are considering either 2 x AAA rechargeable batteries or coin cell batteries since we are trying to keep the product as small as possible.
If the applicant is able to design the housing for the PCB assembly & batteries, that's a plus, but not required.
Please provide examples of relative previous work with your bid and estimated project lead time. Applicant should be able to start on this project now.
