Hi, To improve performance, we can evaluate your old schematics, referring to it's datasheet, and decide which part we can optimize. reducing cost can be done by removing some unused parts. Also we can looking for cheaper component alternative, and if several component might be obsolete, we can looks for it's replacement. I have done several Bluetooth board design before. I know several design issue related to Bluetooth hardware design. Related to audio, I have some knowledge of it. The design time will depend on the component density. If I can replace the current components (on the existing board) with new smaller, integrated components, the size of the PCB, the sourcing cost and lead time, design time and the performance can be improved significantly. Opening an old schematic might be problematic, we may have to approach it as a reverse engineering strategy than a redesign.

I have done two musical keyboards, a mixer, and a synthesizer for other customers. I am interested in helping. I have OrCAD so that's not a problem. I would have to acquire the software you used for your layout or I can use Mentor Graphics Pads. I'm an EE of 25+ years in Austin, TX, USA and have been freelancing for several years now.
