I need a people counter tool prototype to be designed and manufactured. The aim of the tool is to count how many visitors are in the room and record this data over the web in a MYSQL database. - The tool should have 2 sensors (IR) to make sure, that bi-directional counting is available. (e.g. [login to view URL]) - Recommended configuration: Arduino to operate the leds, connected to a Raspberry to handle the webtraffic over wifi. - The data should be recorded in a MySQL database. Every entry should have a record: Incoming: timestamp;IN Outgoing: timestamp;OUT. - At the End of the day visitor number should be 0-ed. No housing, no beautiful case is required, just really the frame wired, but working tool. Write in your application how you would connect the Arduino Board or the Raspberry (or why would you use just one of them), otherwise your application will be ignored.

Before doing business, i need more information about your project, but I can create the PCB board with eagle software and also generate Gerber files to manufacture the same PCB board. if it's something simple, low cost will be. Deliverable items: - Schematic on eagle. - PCB layout in eagle. - Footprints. - PCB 3D view bot . - PCB 3D view top. - BOM. - Gerber Files. if you have question tell me everything do you need. Option 1: Principal Components 1. DS3231 AT24C32 IIC Module Precision Real Time Clock Memory 2. Arduino Uno Rev 3 3. CC3000 Wifi Shield 4. Mysql data base on external server or personal computer Option 2: Principal Components 1. Raspberry pi 2. USB wifi dongle 3. DS3231 AT24C32 IIC Module Precision Real Time Clock Memory 4. SD 5. Mysql data base on external server, personal computer or install on rasbian run on raspberry It is not feasible to use the two plates together, it's an unnecessary extra cost to for the requirements. if you have question tell me everything do you need.

Hello: I am interested in this project with required expertise. It's not necessary to use the Arduino if you are using Raspberry Pi. The IR sensors and LEDs can be interfaced to RPi GPIO directly. You are using the RPi for Wifi connectivity only? This will make the product cost high! Please check the ESP8266 SoC. If this route is acceptable to you then I can guarantee you the final product cost will be about 10USD!! I am able to show you the prototype for anyone above. Hi why do you have to pay for an arduino board and a raspberry pi board , although you can use only one of them with a small esp8266 wifi module for lower coast and simpler system that will help you in future upgrade of your system we can do this for you and give you the circuit schematic and the arduino code and the pcb design if you want

Hello, I can do it rather arduino or raspberry pi. If you have independent http server that can receive POST with data and store in MYSQL, it is possible to do only with arduino (plus Ethernet shield or ESP8266 - WiFi). Arduino can receive time over internet using NTP or parse any simple http site with timespamp. Also it's possible to do with Raspberry pi, MYSQL server can be hosted on Raspberry pi. Also Raspberry pi has GPIO to read IR sensors, so in this case you don't need arduino. But my recommendation will be to use arduino, because I have several times damaged Raspberry pi SD card when power suddenly go off. One second and Raspberry pi can not boot up. In this time arduino is defended from such situation.

I read your complete description and understand it. and check attached video, for your project i suggest we can use only 1 Arduino for WiFI, IR sensors and leds. no need of raspberry-pi. we connect IR with arduino which check people in out and then send data to sql using WIFI and LED's will show indaciting your IN OUT people response. This sounds entirely feasible to do without an arduino to be honest with you. That said, with or without arduino; I can do this without breaking a sweat. One question remains, does it need to be all made and shipped to the US? In any case, if you need an expert on this field, dedicated and speaking perfect English, let me know when you're ready to start.

Hi. I don't think you will require the raspberry board. I have made a similar project earlier, only needed sensors, arduino uno(Atmega 328), memory interface for arduino and a microSD card. Data logging will be done on microSD and can be wiped out both manually and automatically. (Only have experience with arduino UNO and used arduino's software provided by the manufacturer. If you want C code, I am not the right person).

Greetings! There is basically no point in using Arduino, since RasPi can handle detecting sensors states by it's GPIO ports. Connect IR sensors to GPIO and use Python and polling/hardware interrupts for any sensor state changes. Python because it's very easy to connect to MySQL database and with ready-to-go GPIO libraries, it's quite easy to make. Just a matter of good sensor setup to make it work within 0 - 3V3 voltage to prevent burning RasPi ports. All power required can be used from RasPi power supply. Regards, Lukasz Bartosz

This bid is for complete project hardware+software. I will send the hardware to you through courier. If you will build the hardware yourself, I will reduce the bid to USD150. My Proposal: - I will work on Arduino only because Raspberry Pi will be overkill for this project. We don't need that much processing power in such scenario. - I can me the IR circuit and read it on Arduino - The Wifi module or shield will be connected to Arduino and wirelessly to the home router. - Arduino will also be connected to a "timekeeping" circuit named RTC technically. Upon any event, Arduino will read the timestamp and the type of event, that is, IN or OUT. It will send the data over the Wifi to the PC. - In the PC, we can have multiple options along with MySQL to keep and display the data. If you approve the bid with hardware, I will analyze and tell you if the hardware also comes within my bid or not. If not, I will tell you the hardware cost.
