It provides direction for formulating, implementing and evaluating strategic activities. To get started on your assignment, start the report with an overview and explanation: Explain the strategic contexts and terminology based on the 5 criteria listed: • Missions • Visions • Objectives • Goals • Core Competencies. Task 2 Different organisations will have different issues when planning a strategy. Carry out a review of the issues faced by your organisation and describe in detail: • what are the issues? • why do they exist? Task 3 Describe 3 different planning techniques that you will adopt for planning the business strategy. Explain why these techniques are relevant and appropriate to your organisation. Be able to formulate a new strategy (learning outcome 2) Task 1 Produce an organisational audit framework that allows you to analyse and assess the organisations internal and completive strengths and weakness. You are to produce an audit framework for two of the business areas, listed below: • Product Position • Value Chain Analysis • Demographic influences Task 2 For this task you will need to do extensive research to identify which external factors have the biggest impact on your organisation. You are required to carry out an environmental audit by using the two different analysis: • PESTLE Analysis • Porter’s 5 Forces Analysis. Task 3 Identify and list in order of priority the 5 major stakeholders who have a vested interest in your organisation. Explain in detail the importance and significance of stakeholder analysis; make reference to theories and models discussed in your learning sessions. Understand approaches to strategy evaluation and selection (learning outcome 3) Task 1 You are required to identify and analyse the different alternative strategies that you could implement as part of you business strategy. Write an analysis on the following 3 alternative strategies: • Substantive Growth Strategies • Limited Growth Strategies • Retrenchment Strategy Task 2 Consider your analysis of the alternative strategies and select one strategy that you will implement as your business strategy. Explain why this strategy is appropriate, feasible and desirable, in that it meets the future needs of the business. Understand how to implement a chosen strategy (learning outcome 4) Task 1 To implement your chosen strategy successfully you will need to identify the following: team and individual responsibilities, financial, human and physical resources,targets,timescales, review and evaluation. Design an implementation plan that includes all the key requirements (those listed in bold) and plot how you will implement your business strategy. Task 2 Write a supporting report to your Senior Manager that supports your decisions outlined in your implementation plan. The report should describe: • How roles and responsibilities have been allocated. • How you evaluated the resource requirements. • How you agreed targets and timescales with the implementation team.
