Looking for a straight forward program to collect barcodes from an RS232/USB scanner. The software is to record the barcode and each time it records the same barcode it records a time and date of the scan and switches from 'out' to 'in' to 'out' and so on. Each barcode will be associated a user, firstname, surname, company, email, and address. Ideally we would like this software to be as simple to use as possible, initially we are thinking of this just to be run from one machine locally, but if it could have a central data source and multiple scanners that would be a benefit. Please send a cost for the standalone and networked. The system will need to have a simple report facility that can be run showing a user/s movements, times dates of enter/leaving. This system is to be run on standard Windows 7 desktops. If you have any other questions please ask?

I have built two programs very similar to this that scans in admission tickets. One runs in Access and the other was a web version that said if the ticket was valid or not. Going the web route would be a much better solution for you to have multiple scanners going at different locations. Since I have similar code I can pull from I can complete this job fairly quick.

Hello, I have made similar program that logs user attendance through proximity card. The setup involves a central database with multiple card readers using network. You can use multiple workstation or scanners connected to the central workstation and all your data will be in one place. Reporting can be done based on time range or per user.
