Develop an Open Source "HOME SERVER" Operating System
NOTE*the freelancer only has 4000 character limit : to read the complete project details go here : [login to view URL]
- linux or debian based or anything doesnt matter, must be open source
- knowledge in tor network is a must, will develop an anonymous method to connect onto internet upon end user connected to internet/wifi
- knowledge in whonix, tor, i2p, vpn, etc
- fully encrypted system upon installation
- need to have knowledge in trusted hardware, which authority like NSA or anyone wont have backdoor access to firmware then gain access to the data on hardisk
Overview concept of the operating system
- serves as internet archive for end user. For eg : like Windows Home Server edition
- file-sharing purpose
- maintain data redundancy
- completely decentralized methodology
- totally anonymous
- whistle blowing purpose/journalism
Scenario : for eg, John downloaded the .iso disc > install on his computer > the computer will stay connected 24hours.
once the pc connected to internet, it search/auto connects to tor or whonix anonymous network first > then inform end user > pc is ready to use.
If anonymous connection is not established, john will not be able to view any files/use the OS. system will tell user something like "anonymous connection = not found, connect to alternative network"
John opens up a client in his pc (similar like mozilla thunderbird). create a new message and click post. a copy of posted message will stored in his computer, as well as other user which installed the same operating system will automatically download john's message and stored a copy of the message.
the feature of this Operating system is other user will not be able to identify john's ip address or poster's location everyone else which replied john's message, john also wont be able to identify who replied/user ip address, location etc.. there is no option to delete the message, it is meant to store as "internet archive" for end-user.
the connectivity method would be using p2p technology, such as some user which has completely downloaded the message or while still downloading will upload certain available bits and bytes to other user...etc
Guide for end-user :
this operating system is not meant for your personal computer usage, theres no browser for you to visit facebook, check gmail, install skype, play games etc..
it is meant to act as your own personal server archive at home. the internet archive literally contains everything you could imagine.(both bad and goods stuffs..) consider this as your digital treasure box/digital library, and the best of all is its totally free to use and download.
there is no option to delete the files from server
Overall project expenditure - expected from 5 figure amount or more. in US dollar only for further questions, please contact my email : or message here. thanks
Software goal/motto : "Society will not be equal when people does not have access to same level of information".
"Sharing is creating wealth"
"It should be pointed out that no human really “invents” or creates anything on his or her own. Every idea and creation that has emerged has been done so based on the contributions of prior generations’ work, environmental influences and/or peer feedback. As Isaac Newton once said: “If I have seen further, it is only by standing on the shoulders of Giants”. His point was that he built his research, and hence discoveries, upon the work of many other great scientists who lived before him. His credit therefore is not only his, it goes to the whole body of scientific discovery that he had learned and worked with."
Hi, sir.
I'm a super linuxer and also a professional programmer.
So I can do it for you successfully. I know about tor and vpn and so on.
Please let me do this project.
Of course, you can find me at google with my name, DuPingping.
Best Regards.
Du Pingping.
Hello, i want to discuss with you about this project. I can make something like this for you. I have experience and also working with enterprise and government software.
I have a team that knows how to build kernels and many closed-source things.
I have also experience in network and how you can avoid some things with the NSA.
contact me to discuss.
Project plan:
Distro: Tails (for super secure livedisk)
Pros
Based on the Gnu / Debian fork of Linux, which has been heavily audited for malicious code
Routes all internet connections through Tor
Comes with a range of well-respected open source programs that emphasise privacy, providing most of the necessary tools that journalists, whistleblowers, and suchlike will need to perform their task without being tracked or identified
MAC address spoofing
‘Windows camouflage’ option to make use inconspicuous
Cons
Tails looks somewhat outdated (it uses a very old version of GNOME desktop), and provides a very stripped down user experience
No native way to save files etc.
Whonix
Pros
Works inside a VM, isolated from a Tor gateway, and all isolated from host OS, so ‘IP and DNS leaks are impossible’. For best security, the gateway and workstation should be on different computers
Debian GNU/Linux environment (KDE desktop)
Can be used as a full general purpose desktop OS
Plenty of documentation and support through user-forums. Paid-for professional support is also available
Cons
Complex to configure and setup
File sharing should be on multiple secure ftp servers
Just because I have an open source licas system and it provides a service that performs this type of functionality already. You might want to look at that and consider it as a possible solution.
